Swedish botanist Vivi Täckholm, professor at Cairo University, with her colleagues Mahdi, plant presser, and Ibrahim, preparator. When the photo was taken in 1969, the herbarium was the largest of Africa. It included about 100 000 plants from all over the world, especially Egypt and the neighbouring countries.
