In eight steps

Selling here is deliberately simple, and every stage is confirmed to you in writing.

• 1. Submit photographs and information online. Submission is free and does not guarantee acceptance.
• 2. VALÉORINE reviews the object.
• 3. Additional information or further photographs may be requested.
• 4. Selected objects are prepared professionally for the catalogue.
• 5. The object enters an online auction.
• 6. The buyer pays VALÉORINE.
• 7. You despatch to the buyer once payment is confirmed.
• 8. You receive settlement, with a written statement of account.

You do not write the catalogue entry

You are never asked to produce a professional description. Tell us plainly what the object is and what you know of it; the cataloguing, measurement, condition reporting, photography and any research are prepared by VALÉORINE with the specialist engaged for that field.

You keep the object

Unless specifically arranged, you keep the object with you throughout review and auction. VALÉORINE does not routinely warehouse submitted objects: the lot travels once, directly from you to the buyer, and only after the buyer has paid.

Selection, not listing

Objects are not listed on request. Each submission is reviewed by VALÉORINE and, where the subject requires it, by an independent specialist engaged for that field. You receive a written answer either way, and acceptance is never guaranteed.

Estimate and reserve

An estimate is proposed from the evidence available and, where appropriate, a reserve is agreed with you in writing before publication. Neither is imposed on you.

What it costs

The consignor fee in force is confirmed in writing before an object is published.

• The fee scale in force is snapshotted against your consignment, so a later change cannot alter your terms.
• There is no charge for submitting an object for review.

Despatch obligations

Once the buyer's payment has cleared you must despatch the lot directly to the buyer within the published despatch deadline, by an approved tracked service, and record the tracking in your portal. Proof of despatch is a condition of settlement.

When you are paid

Proceeds are released once payment has cleared, despatch is evidenced, the the published protection window protection window has elapsed and no compliance hold stands — within the the published settlement terms settlement terms, with a written statement of account.

Where your lot is seen

VALÉORINE presents its sales primarily through its own platform and, where appropriate, through a carefully selected network of leading international auction platforms, to maximise global visibility, attract qualified bidders worldwide and achieve the strongest possible results for consignors.

What you keep afterwards

A permanent record of the transaction, from which a VALÉORINE Verified Record can be issued, together with the catalogue entry and any research prepared for the lot.
