Payments

Payments and payouts

One rule governs money on VALÉORINE: it passes through VALÉORINE. A buyer never pays a consignor directly, and a consignor is never paid before the object has demonstrably been sent.

What the buyer pays

A single invoice covering the hammer price, the buyer's fee, tax where due and shipping, payable to VALÉORINE within the published payment terms of the sale.

How the buyer pays

Payment is taken through a regulated payment provider, or by bank transfer for higher values. Card details are handled by the provider; VALÉORINE does not hold them.

Invoices are versioned

An issued invoice is never silently edited. A correction produces a new version, and every version remains on the record, so what you were asked to pay is always reconstructable.

Funds are held

Cleared funds are held by VALÉORINE while the consignor despatches — within the published despatch deadline — and for the the published protection window protection window that follows delivery.

Conditions of release

Four conditions must all be satisfied before a consignor is paid: cleared buyer payment, evidenced tracked despatch, an elapsed protection window with no open dispute, and no outstanding compliance or identity hold.

When the consignor is paid

Within the published settlement terms of those conditions being met, by transfer to the verified account on file, with a written statement of account showing the hammer price, the consignor fee, any deductions and the net sum.

Unsold lots

No sale, no charge: an unsold lot generates no buyer's fee and no consignor commission. The object never left its owner's hands.

Refunds

Where a dispute is upheld, the buyer is refunded from the held funds. Because settlement had not been released, no recovery from the consignor is required.

Payment terms, the despatch deadline, the protection window and settlement terms are read from the schedules in force on the platform. Real-money bidding opens only once VALÉORINE has completed its readiness checks.
