Nigel Davies
Nigel Davies (born 31 July 1960) is an English chess Grandmaster, chess coach and writer. Davies won the British (Under-21) Boys Championship in 1979 and the British Rapidplay Chess Championship in 1987. In July 2015 Davies transferred his FIDE registration from England to Wales and became eligible to represent them internationally, he transferred back to England in 2022.

- 1.Laut Elo-Historie bei olimpbase.org soll Davies zwischen 1980 und 1990 insgesamt neunmal zwischen dem englischen und walisischen Verband gewechselt haben. Es besteht kein Zweifel daran, dass er in diesem Zeitraum irgendwann vom englischen zum walisischen Verband wechselte, die angegebene Zuordnung ist jedoch vermutlich fehlerhaft. So wird er beispielsweise im ersten Halbjahr 1982 als spielberechtigt für den walisischen Verband gelistet, er bestritt in diesem Zeitraum jedoch einen Wettkampf für die englische Mannschaft im Rahmen der Qualifikation zur Mannschaftseuropameisterschaft 1983.
