Shinji Tanimura (1948–2023) was a Japanese composer, lyricist and professor, among other activities. Born in Osaka, the composer died in Tokyo.

Shinji Tanimura studied at Momoyama Gakuin University and Osaka Prefecture Education Center High School. The composer worked for Shanghai Conservatory of Music and was a member of Alice and Rock Candies.
