Mercè Rodoreda i Gurguí (Catalan pronunciation: [məɾˈsɛ ruðuˈɾɛðə]; 10 October 1908 – 13 April 1983) was a Catalan novelist, who wrote in the Catalan language. She is considered the most influential contemporary Catalan language writer, as evidenced by other authors' references to her work and her international reputation, with translations into more than thirty languages. She also has been called the most important Catalan female novelist of the postwar period.

Mercè Rodoreda (1908–1983) was an Esperantist, novelist and painter, among other activities, of Spanish nationality. The Esperantist was born Mercè Rodoreda i Gurguí in Barcelona and died in Girona.

Mercè Rodoreda was educated at Escola Menéndez Pelayo and Liceu Dalmau. The Esperantist worked for Comissariat de propaganda, Institució de les Lletres Catalanes and La Publicitat, among others and was a member of Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana. Activity centred on literature.

Among the works are Aloma, Crim, Del que hom no pot fugirc and El carrer de les Camèlies, among others. Languages used include Esperanto, Spanish and Valencia. Honours include City of Barcelona Award, Flor Natural and Gold Letter, among others.
