Biography
Biography
The son of Ludwik Kern, a teacher, and Maria née Gertner. In 1939, he passed matura in the A. Zimowski Humanist High School in Łódź. He took part in the September Campaign. During the Nazi occupation, he lived in Warsaw, supporting himself through manual labor. In 1948, he moved to Kraków, where he started working at the Przekrój weekly. He was buried in the Avenue of the Meritorious at the Rakowicki Cemetery in Kraków.
