Edouard Dermit
Jean Cocteau (1947–1963) Édouard Dermit (born Antoine Édouard Dermit; 18 January 1925 – 15 May 1995), was an actor and painter who became the adopted son and lover of the French writer and film director Jean Cocteau.

Career
Dermit was initially employed as a chauffeur and gardener in the home where Cocteau lived. Cocteau took interest in Dermit and encouraged his artistic pursuits. When Cocteau died in 1963, Dermit took on the task of completing some of Cocteau's unfinished works. Dermit also managed Cocteau's legacy and oversaw the publication of some of Cocteau's posthumous work.

Dermit married and had two sons. His children's godparents included Pablo Picasso's wife Jacqueline Picasso, actor Jean Marais, socialite and arts patron Francine Weisweiller, and industrialist Pierre Bergé.
