Medal of the Immaculate Conception (aka Miraculous Medal), a medal created by Saint Catherine Labouré in response to a request from the Blessed Virgin Mary, who appeared to the saint at rue du Bac, Paris, in 1830. The message on the recto reads: " O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee — 1830 ".
