Career
Lefèvre made his debut in the 1920s when he acted in numerous films in small roles. His first film of note was Le Million, directed by René Clair in 1931. He later had the fortune of starring in the title role in The Crime of Monsieur Lange, directed by Jean Renoir. Lefèvre was a left-wing actor and a major figure in the French Resistance during the German Occupation of France. He later became friends with Jean Vigo and recommended him as the director of films financed by a left-wing businessman. He continued appearing in films until the late 70s, landing a small role in Jean-Pierre Melville's Le Doulos in 1962. He died in 1991 in Poissy.
