Oton Župančič

Oton Župančič was a linguist, poet, writer, playwright, translator and literary critic (1878–1949). He was born in Vinica and died in Ljubljana.

Identity and origins

He also worked under the names Aleksij Nikolajev, Pavel Strnad and Beli Kranjec. His recorded languages were Spanish, German and Slovene.

He married Ani Župančič. 3 children are recorded: Marko Župančič, Andrej Otona Župančič and Jasna Župančič Kmet.
