Jirō Satō

Jirō Satō is a Japanese actor, screenwriter, and film director whose artistic career across stage, television, and cinema spans several decades. Jirō Satō was born in 1969 in Aichi Prefecture, Satō established himself within Japanese theatrical and screen culture after co-founding the theatre unit Chikarawaza in 1996 and subsequently appearing as a regular performer in works directed by Yuichi Fukuda. His professional standing was formally acknowledged in 2026 when his performance in Suzuki=Bakudan was recognised with the Best Supporting Actor award at the 49th Japan Academy Film Prize.
