Overview
Overview
When he launched Lyber, he was especially concerned about the "fake book" market, a problem he felt could be combated by the transparency offered by Lyber. The software invites readers to buy the physical book if they like it and directs them to bookstores that carry it. Readers can also leave comments for the author using Lyber. Valensi argued that Lyber has economic benefits too, as the transparency and engagement encouraged through Lyber could devalue the "commercial trash" that traditional publishers might otherwise rely on for sustainability. They won the Publisher's Prize from Les Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco in 2017.
